April Fools day to most people is the time to play jokes and pranks on your friends. I'm sure we (my twin Sister and I) were no laughing matter as our birthmother struggled to bring us into this world knowing we would be placed for Adoption soon there after. It was a difficult time and decision, but one that was made with our best interests in mind.

Growing up Adopted was no secret and we both always wanted to know "more" about our Birth heritage. Our Adopitve Father passed away when we were 10 and our Adoptive Mom was always open and supported our "need" to know. In 1978 we were fortunate enough to have the Judge open our Adoption file and give us our Birth Mothe's name. But, we did not know what to do with the
name and so it remained just that...."a name".... without a face or location to go with it.
20 years passed and the computer age found it's way into our home. Soon we were exploring the internet and somehow, we found our our way to the WIs ICARE Adoption website. Within minutes we were registered and soon the emails were going back and forth between us and Icare (Searcher...Mary). Mary felt confident that she could find our Birth Mother.
Both Cathy and myself (Christine) were skeptical with such confidence. After all, we had the name for 20 years and had not progressed forward. Within a matter of days, Mary had found not only our Birth Grandparents death records and obituaries, but much more. She had found where our Birth Mother had married and was living in North central WIS.
It was a matter of a couple of phone calls and we were talking to our Birth Mother, who was overjoyed at being found. We laughed, we cried, and we talked and then we cried some more. All the tears were of happiness. We found a Sister and a Brother waiting to meet us. We have a new found
relationship and answers to years of questions. For us, the Search was over and the best was yet to come.
