Oh Great Keeper of The Gate, A child who was born into uncertainty, but rose above it. One who was taught to respect life and value Friendship. One who learned good morals and to value his Faith. A teenager whose dreams included good friends, a family and a future, fulfilling his dreams and accomplishing his goals. A worker who was faithful, dependable and trustworthy. A young man, who asked the young woman of his dreams to share his life and future, building a relationship and family that he longed for. An individual whose fondest memory of his first home was simply being together with the wife he cherished, in a warm cozy place of their own. A person with simple taste who lived for tomorrow, yet enjoyed the quiet times of today. A friend and companion to many. A man whose vocabulary did not include the word "No" when it came to lending a helping hand. One, who had he been an athlete, would have been the consummate team player, always placing his needs behind those of another. A man of generosity, giving the ultimate gift of his time, his compassion, his love and understanding. A man who was capable of giving "Unconditional Love" to his wife and to his children. A Father who watched his children grow and mature in the image of himself and his wife. A Father who cherished every encounter with his children as he taught them to love, to dream, and to believe in themselves. One who often suffered in silence, bearing his pain in solitude, because he didn’t want to inconvenience or worry anyone. And finally, a man who felt sacrifice was of little importance and therefore made the supreme sacrifice, giving his life for his Country. Oh Distinguished Keeper of The Gate; I do not wish to make it appear that there soon approaches a throng of would be Angels. I simply ask that you keep your eye out for just ONE. You see, I have just described a Husband, a Father, a Son, a Brother, and our Friend, "Kevin Reichert". God has been patiently waiting his arrival. And now, the time has come for them to be reunited with one another in His Heavenly Kingdom. On behalf of his Family, his Friends, and His Country, and everyone gathered here today, we ask that you grant this request. Amen |
