Beyond My Wildest Dreams

When I was sixteen and pregnant, I decided that in the best interest of my baby I would give her up for adoption.

It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I thought about her throughout the years, wondered what type of family she had gotten into, was she being treated well and what she looked like. I always wanted to look her up but didn't want to disrupt her life. Now, twenty seven years later, with the help of Mary at ICARE, I found my birthdaughter... One of the happiest days of my life!

I had written her a letter and every time I went to the mailbox had hoped I would have gotten a response. One day I had gotten the letter back...she hadn't picked it up from the post office. My heart sunk! I sent it again. About a month later I received the most special letter with a photo album, from my birthdaughter, and a card from her mom.

We set up a reunion and it couldn't have gone more perfect. She was so open to meeting me and my family. Three months later she invited me and my family to her son's 1 year birthday party. We met her whole family and her in laws--everyone was so accepting. At our most recent get together, I took some Christmas gifts to her and her children. She gave me one of the best gifts...pictures of her children.

I am still walking on air...this is a dream come true.

I am so blessed to have been reunited with my birthdaughter and to have her so open and accepting of me. Without the help of Mary at ICARE I would not have found my birthdaughter. I feel so blessed to have had Mary's help. She truly is an Angel!!
