I was reunited with 2 siblings about 1991. We hadnt had any contact since 1965. We keep in touch now and see each other frequently even though we are 160 miles apart. My question to other adoptees is this...
Anyone else been reunited like this?
I love my siblings. But no matter what, that bond seems to be lacking. You always have a feeling that you can never get back what you had. It always feels like there is a wall that just cant be knocked down.
Anyone else feel like this? Is it normal?

I can relate...I've been reunited with my birthmother, birthsiblings and extended birthfamily since 2001. I felt such a deep loss...I wasn't there for any of the important milestones. No graduations, no weddings, no births of my nieces and nephews...I finally had to decide to let those feelings go. I could never get back the years that we missed and decided I had to concentrate on the here and now. We HAVE experienced losses....I didn't really start to heal until I validated them, grieved them, and then moved on. Good luck in your journey.. sal
